CNRN Review Course Module 23: Neuromuscular Disorders
This course provides neuroscience nurses the understanding of disorders of the neuromuscular system, patient problems, methods of diagnosis, and the treatments for these neurological diseases.

Description
The objectives of this course are:
- Identify three problems facing the patient with a neuromuscular disease.
- Name three possible treatments for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, myasthenia gravis, polymyositis, and dermatomyositis.
- Identify key nursing findings of impending respiratory failure in Guillain-Barre’ syndrome and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
- Identify the relationship between tight glucose control in patients with diabetes and the development and progression of diabetic neuropathy.
- State two of the basic tenet of toxic neuropathy.
