Description
The objectives of this course are:
- Describe normal and abnormal physical findings in the neonate.
- Discuss the differences between positional plagiocephaly and craniosynostosis.
- Describe the pathophysiology of neural tube development.
- Differentiate between spina bifida occulta and spina bifida aperta.
- Describe the presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of Chiari malformation.
- Describe the symptoms associated with syringomyelia and identify management strategies.
- Describe at least five symptoms of childhood brain tumors.
- Describe autism spectrum disorder.
- Identify risk factors for developing cerebral palsy.
- Identify signs and symptoms of the most common neurodegenerative disorders in children and discuss treatment options.
